Great American Volleyball and EEVB have combined with the Jose Cuervo Pro Beach Volleyball Series to promote a qualifier event for the June 22-24 Belmar Open. The winners of the GAV/EEVB men and women’s open divisions on June 16-17 will receive an automatic berth into the Jose Cuervo 6/23 main draw. Dates: June 16-17 Location: Pt. Pleasant Beach, NJ This event will give up and coming open level players a chance to earn a berth into a professional beach volleyball tournament. If you are coming to NJ for the Friday Qualifier why not come a week early and play in a high purse event with a chance to qualify for the main draw. There will also be men’s and women’s amateur doubles (AA, A and B divisions) on Saturday and Coed doubles (B,A,AA + Open) and Juniors on Sunday. Come play and then watch top teams from throughout the US compete to get into the June 22-24 Jose Cuervo Pro Beach Volleyball Series in Belmar, NJ. Women’s Open is scheduled to be a one day event with finals Saturday evening if we can finish Saturday evening. If not remaining games will be finished Sunday. Men’s Open will be a 2-day event with at least the top 4 teams finishing Sunday June 24. The winning teams will be the 32nd seed in the Belmar Open. No athlete ranked 32nd or higher on the USA Volleyball National Ranking system will be eligible to compete in the 6/16-17 Pt. Pleasant tournament. Prize Money: $2500 each in men and women’s open: (1st $910, 2nd $450, 3rd $300- 2 Teams, 5th $170- 2 teams, 7th $100- 2 teams) Pre-registration/Pre-pay: All open teams must be pre-paid by Tuesday June 12.
